I am not a summing or mixing expert by any means. This is just my test to see what mix process I like the most. I never summed with the SSL SiX so it was a good time to nerd out a little =] Summing 8 channels is really just the intro to summing. There are folks are doing 16-32 channels and even more. Classic mixers usually had 24-48 channels so to rival that process I’d need more summing hardware. The difference is super subtle so if they all sound the same, I get it. That's why so much music is mixed in the DAW, plus its way more convenient that doing a recall. I plan on using my analog hardware on certain channels when summing for more character, but for the shootout, it would be hard to match with plug ins.
